In the fourth season premiere, it's been four months since Dean was dragged away by the hounds of Hell, the result of a deal he made with the Crossroads Demon in exchange for his brother's life. Now, Dean wakes up in a pine box. He's been freed from Hell, but he doesn't know how or why.

DJ: What a way to start the season! I can already tell that this season is gonna be all kinds of awesome!

Rating - 9/10 - Bobby's reaction to Dean was amazing, Sam's reaction was heartbreaking (in a good way) pure emotion! The twist with Ruby & Sam - SO GOOD! I am so relieved that Dean is out of hell but i have so many questions!! The Angel of the Lord, Castiel? (not sure on spelling, i'm sure you guys will let me know) but again I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS! 

While Dean, Sam and Bobby worry about 20 hunters killed or missing in the area, they themselves are each attacked by angry spirits who blame them for their deaths.

DJ: 8.5/10 - Loved seeing some familiar faces! Hard to hear what some of them thought of the boys & it really is a difficult one to explore. On one hand the boys are doing what they feel is right to protect the many & on the other hand the hosts are real people trapped inside while the demons are causing havoc! Tricky one. Awesome to have more Bobby in the ep too, his panic room was the sh*t ha! Another strong ep, not as thrilling as ep 1 but still thoroughly enjoyable - bring on ep 3!

Dean is transported back in time and is shocked when he lands in Lawrence, Kansas. 

DJ: I cried again guys...

*RATING* 9.9/10 - I LOVED this episode! I'm not sure if this one is a fan favourite or not but for me this hits top charts in my book, for sure! The story arc was brilliant, the casting was phenomenal & the emotion was REAL! The only thing I missed was Sammy but sadly he wasn't born just yet ha. We finally got answers this episode guys!! & man alive was it worth the wait. What a twist, or should I say twists! I love these sort of episodes & they're risky as sometimes they can be executed badly but SPN strikes again with it's epicness!

Sam and Dean find that a family man is turning into a flesh-eating monster, and argue about killing him. 

DJ: Rating - 7.5/10 - I enjoyed the boys scenes (as always), whenever they open up to each other it always strikes a chord with me. Dean finding out about Sams powers & the discussion following it was the highlight if this episode. Otherwise my rating would have been slightly lower I think. 

Shown entirely in black and white, Dean and Sam investigate several murders at Oktoberfest in PennsylTransylvannia. 

DJ: Rating - 6/10 - I'm really sorry if this is one of your favourite episodes. I really wanted to like it but it just didn't gel with me. Not really my thing. I hear on second watch it can be a grower so maybe I fall under that category? Who knows. It probably doesn't help that I was drained when I watched it so I wasn't in the best frame of mind.

Dean is infected with an illness that starts as anxiety, but moves to full-blown terror that stops the heart. 

DJ: Rating - 8.5/10 - The humour in this was prefect, seeing Dean scared was the best haha. Jensen played it brilliantly! I liked the fact that Sam was unaffected because he isn't a 'dick' but Dean got snapped up for this ghost virus at first opportunity haha - so good! The part that stands out for me is Dean's overwhelming fear of Sam becoming his own version of Yellow Eyes. It really did wind me up how Dean kept that secret but this IS a common occurrence for these silly boys! I feel like we are back on track for some cracking episodes this season :) cant wait!

A witch is sacrificing people to summon a dangerous demon. 

DJ: Rating - 8/10 - Loved the twists in this episode! I also enjoyed seeing Sam meet Cas for the first time, even though he was a little disappointed I think it was an important step. Listening to Dean explain to Sam that he shouldn't lose his faith was such a sweet moment. Cas giving Dean yet another test - Whhhhyyyy, he deserves some rest writers please! Sam used his powers yet again, personally I feel he made the right decision in that moment. It's made me ask questions that i'm excited to find the answers to!

Sam and Dean investigate a small town where wishes are coming true.

DJ: Rating - 8/10 - This ep definitely reminded me of the earlier SPN eps & I enjoyed it :) The humour was great as always, some scenes they really pushed the envelope for insane supernatural goings on haha. For me though, that last scene was everything... The earnest response from Dean was heart warming & Sam said so much without saying anything at all. I felt like they got even closer as brothers (if that's even possible). Bugsy - they were by water - I should have predicted the heart to heart haha. It was a fun concept for an episode & very enjoyable to watch, I would have liked more plot development but i'm being very picky/needy. 

Ruby, Sam and Dean look for a girl who hears the angels. 

DJ: *Rating* - 9.25/10 - Corker of an ep! I'm still a little stunned following the Sam & Ruby sex scene O.O twit twoo that was steamy! *fans self* I see why they got married haha. I'm enjoying the character Anna, I'm cautious though at the same time. So many questions! This Alister dude seems creepy as hell...no pun intended. Dean knows of him too - extra eeeeek! I'm gonna go straight into ep 10, see you guys over there!...

Anna recalls her past and Sam and Dean understand why Castiel and Uriel want her dead. 

DJ: Rating - 9.5/10 - I'm so upset that Dean lost out yet again at a potential love & he broke my heart when discussing his time in hell *sobs*. I'm glad he spoke about his time, even if he kept things brief because his tears showed his struggles & heartache & hopefully Sam can now ease off his questions knowing how difficult it is for him to talk about it. Finding out more about what Sam went through and how his relationship with Ruby developed was great to witness too. I hope that the boys & Ruby become a super team. I really warmed to Anna this episode too & it sucked she had to do what she didn't want to and return her grace & Angel status. I have no clue what happened to her & Alister but i'm hoping she's destroying him somewhere!!! Finding out more about Angels too was very interesting & I feel theres so much more to find out. Cas is making me question a lot of things - can he feel emotions? Is he just intrigued by human emotions? Will he ever fall from Grace? Will he ever shut Uriel the hell up?! Who knows...

Sam and Dean investigate the appearance of a young female ghost in an abandoned house, but things become more complicated when a family moves in. 

DJ: *Rating* 7.5/10 - I thought this ep was fun & different. I liked the fact it wasn't your typical supernatural creature causing havoc. I may be bias as I am a fan of true crime & this story has no doubt been a reality for some poor folk out there. I also enjoyed the Sam & Dean reflection on their heart to heart in the previous episode - glad they didn't drop it from the narrative. 

The Winchester brothers start investigating magicians who seem to be using black magic after several people die in ways that recall the magicians' stage illusions. 

DJ: *Rating* - 7/10 - standard ep, nothing too interesting happened. Bit of a filler ep but not unenjoyable. I did really like how the boys were reflecting on their lives & their future as hunters after seeing these older gents & their careers/lives. The ending was interesting - I really don't know how the angels are going to react to this??...

Sam and Dean go undercover at their old high school, causing them to flash back to the time they spent there. 

DJ: *Rating* - 7.5/10 - I really enjoy flash back episodes - when they're carried out well that is! I feel SPN thus far have done well with these types of episodes/scenes. I genuinely thought I predicted this episode super quick & then in true SPN form they threw a curve ball in there, I love it! :D It's so hard to watch the inner struggles that these boys deal with on a daily basis & what they have dealt with in the past. Their need for 'normality' is so strong & it's super sad to see them struggle with the family business on the regular. They deserve so much happiness & a breather from all the drama but who else would step up & do as well of a job??? No one...sigh. I hope the next ep gives some push regarding the main story arc, i've enjoyed these last three but I want some nitty gritty scenes again, i'm greedy!

Sam and Dean find three small town men have beaten their wives to death. 

DJ: *Rating* - 7.5/10 - another good ep, shock horror. I really enjoyed predicting what's to come, followed by the twists in this episode. I'm assuming following this episode that Sam & Ruby's relationship is very casual. Sam didn't think twice about hooking up with the Doc. I found it difficult watching that last scene where the boys inner truth spewed out. I really wish they wouldn't have just brushed it under the carpet afterwards though. They could have put all their cards on the table & resolved some hidden issues...Not surprised they did this though - typical Winchesters smh. Also, side not, yet another familiar face - I swear SPN has the best casting! So many likeable actors/actresses in this show.

Pamela sends the boys to the spiritual world when they find people cheating death.  

DJ: *Rating* - 8.8/10 - This ep was a meaty one in comparison to the last few. I can't help but think about Sam lying to the young boy though. On one hand he felt he needed to do this to get what he needed quickly under his time restraint and on the other hand it could potentially be a peak at a darker version on Sam? One that is more cut throat than what we're used to? Time will tell... I enjoyed revisiting the reapers & the limbo ghost plane. Alistair is back though :( he scares me!! He's clearly stronger than most demons & I worry the boys underestimate this. Poor Pamela...she's had it rough since meeting the Winchesters & this time she goes out with those scary last words - we know that Sam's gifts come with a price the question I mainly have is, is this price worth it? Is this the only option the world has at surviving, by losing Sam in the process? EEEeeeek, it's all going on!!

Castiel and Uriel capture Alastair and ask Dean to torture him with skills he learned in Hell. 

DJ: WOW!...Just wow...

*Rating* - 9.5/10 - I felt all the emotions. It was intense! We got some nitty gritty plot which i've been waiting for and now that I've got it i'm an absolute mess-typical, haha. It was so sad finding out that Dean started this whole thing & that's the reason he was saved because he has to finish it *cries a river of feels*. It's insane that Sam drinking Ruby's blood somehow gives him an epic power boost too! CRAZY twists. Cas forever showing up a little late but luckily just in time. Alistair forever cruel & forever dead...I hope??? 

What would happen if the Winchesters weren't hunters? In this alternate life, Dean is a corporate man who enjoys health drinks and listens to news radio and Sam is in tech support. 

DJ: *Rating* - 8/10 - It was a good ep but not as strong as the last one (I know that's hard to do in fairness). I thought the concept was interesting & I was convinced that the Trickster was involved, such a fail from me lol. It was SO strange seeing the boys have different second names & not know they're brothers!! The little details I found really fun, Dean switching off rock music, eating a salad & being a business man?! WHUT even. Let's not forget Sam, working an office job, wanting to hunt full time & allowing dean to be the researcher - sooo freaky Friday esq. So the we're introduced to another Angel & he carries out Dean's test...another damn test! I feel this one was perhaps more accurate & maybe even necessary. The boys were born to do this, they'll forever return to hunting & fighting for the innocent. As much as they want a 'normal' life this Supernatural life will be the one for them. 

Sam and Dean discover "Supernatural," a series of comic books that accurately detail their lives as demon hunters. 

*Rating* - 9/10 - Another gripping episode! We were introduced to the Prophet of the lord, Chuck. He looks like a typical burn out writer, yet he has a huge purpose...will he share his knowledge with the boys and go against the angel Zachariah? Or will he shy away & respect Zach's advice? I kinda hope he spills the beans & gives the boys a lil heads up but i'll have to wait & see. I'm so intrigued as to what he saw in that last dream?!! Hope next ep they delve more into that. Dean is still set on protecting Sam & avoiding conflict with Lilith until he feels they're more prepared but sam is on a mission!! There's no changing his mind! It's making me nervous how determined he is. We were also introduced to the idea of a stronger angel, the Arc(?) Angels. I was so happy when Cas gave that cheeky tip to Dean, god bless. He's continuing his support & edging closer and closer away from his loyalties with God.

A 19-year-old boy named Adam calls Sam and Dean looking for John Winchester; the boy claims to be his son. 

DJ: *Rating* - 8.9/10 - Another strong episode. I'm still in shock over the fact there was another Winchester! I have mixed feelings about this result of this ep. On one hand i'm glad we experienced this as we saw how the boys reacted - Sam being open & welcoming hoping to get another hunter on board & Dean being more guarded & wanting Adam to lead an Un-Supernatural way of life. On the other hand, I feel another addition to the Winchesters would have been an interesting scenario. He could have been for or against the family business, he could be a potential friend or foe etc. Where as this way he was introduced so briefly & quickly shut down. Jon must have SO many secrets! The boys thought they knew a lot but i'm sure there's many things they're still in the dark about...Their Dad leading a double life that they were none the wiser about - taking Adam to baseball games, doing typical 'dad' things etc, must have been unbelievable hard to stomach for the boys. Sam is going deeper and deeper into his hunger for blood & i'm worried!! Almost at the end of this season now, can't help but wonder how it will end but i'm scared & excited to find out!

Castiel appears to Dean in a dream and says he has something important to tell him but they need to meet somewhere private. Dean and Sam go searching for him, but instead find Castiel's human vessel, Jimmy.

DJ: *Rating* - 9.9/10 - I'm scared of giving this a 10 incase the finale is out of this world but WOW did I enjoy this episode!! I'm so glad I know more backstory to Cas/Jimmy now and what a story it is! The twists in this were fantastic! Cas being ripped from his host, Jimmy's mrs being taken over by a demon, Sam chomping down on a demon-vampire style, Jimmy getting shot & begging for Cas to take him over his daughter, Dean confiding in Bobby to help to lock Sam up & work through his addiction!!! It was all going on, i'm overwhelmed! I went through all the emotions yet again, this show is next level! I hope it only continues on this path because WOW, just wow...brilliant!

Dean and Bobby lock Sam in Bobby's panic room so he can detox from the demon blood. 

DJ: *Rating* 9/10 - I couldn't process this video after watching it, my head was a mess & I just wanted to see the last ep asap. The way Jared played his withdrawal scenes was impressive! He sold it to me so well, I felt his pain & struggles watching him in that room...so sad. His visions, his torture & his emotion were perfectly executed. I also loved the scenes between Bobby & Dean & thank the sweet lord for Bobby yet again. Dean needed a stern talking to & a reminder of why they're there & doing this. The end of this ep was hard to watch, the boys fighting is never easy & this felt on another level to me...bring on the finale guys!!

The apocalypse is coming, and Sam and Dean prepare for the fight in very different ways. 

DJ: *Rating 10/10 - I did it guys, full marks - I barely survived this episode...So much to take in as per every finale! I'm extremely cautious going into season 5 with regards to Sam & Dean's relationships. I pray that they'll grow stronger after this whole ordeal. Sam will be punishing himself no doubt after everything that's happened with Ruby, the demon blood, Lilith & his arguments with Dean. Maybe Lucifer Rising will force the boys to crack on & focus on getting things back under control? I hope!! So so happy that Cas decided to work with Dean rather than against him, I was worried for a moment there! Better late than never though. I was extremely annoyed at the twist with the Angel's motivations...lies all lies! 

This season has been the best one so far. I've loved it! S5 seems to be another fan favourite so i'm beyond excited to dive into that.
